A Crucial History Lesson On PoliticAl greed

The Great American Sellout NIXON ’72 -TRUMP ’24

In the annals of American betrayal, few chapters reek as foul as the systematic dismantling of our manufacturing might by a cabal of spineless politicians and their billionaire puppet masters. These self serving charlatans, cloaked in the rhetoric of “global progress” and “free trade,” have orchestrated a decades long heist that exported millions of high paying jobs overseas, hollowed out Main Street USA, and left a trail of devastated communities in their wake. From the treacherous handshake in Beijing to the flood of cheap Chinese junk invading our shelves, this is the linear chronicle of greed fueled corruption that turned the land of opportunity into a graveyard of rusting factories and shattered dreams. And make no mistake: every homeless veteran on our streets, every child going hungry, every family without healthcare can trace their misery back to these Washington weasels who prioritized corporate profits over American lives.

The Nixon Betrayal: Lighting the Fuse in 1972

It all started with that conniving crook Richard Nixon, whose 1972 visit to China wasn’t a diplomatic masterstroke but the opening salvo in America’s economic suicide. On February 21, 1972, Nixon touched down in Beijing, schmoozing with Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai in a move that shattered 23 years of isolation. The resulting Shanghai Communiqué, signed on February 27, 1972, wasn’t just words on paper, it was a green light for bilateral trade that “mutually beneficial” economic relations would follow. Nixon, that paranoid power hungry egomaniac, prioritized Cold War gamesmanship over American workers, using China as a wedge against the Soviets while ignoring the inevitable flood of cheap labor that would undercut U.S. factories.

Trade exploded almost immediately. In 1972, U.S.-China two-way trade was a paltry $95.9 million. But Nixon’s sellout set the stage for corporate behemoths like Walmart to spawn. By the early 1980s, Walmart, founded by that folksy fraud Sam Walton, was already sourcing heavily from China, turning small town America into a dependency on foreign junk. Two years after China’s WTO entry in 2001, Walmart was spending $15 billion annually on Chinese made products, accounting for nearly one eighth of all U.S. imports from China. Today, look around: nearly everything screams “Made in China”, from your iPhone to your Android, even the American flags we wave on the Fourth of July. What a disgraceful irony, courtesy of Nixon’s short sighted scheming.

The Reagan Era:

Globalization’s Greedy Acceleration in the 1980s

Fast forward to the 1980s, under that Hollywood huckster Ronald Reagan, and the rot deepened. Manufacturing employment peaked at 19.6 million in June 1979, representing 22% of total non-farm jobs. But Reagan’s deregulatory frenzy and blind faith in “trickle down” economics accelerated globalization’s assault. Two recessions in the early 1980s decimated manufacturing, shedding 1.5 million jobs in one and 2 million in another. Reagan didn’t lift a finger for the workers instead, he championed policies that encouraged offshoring to low wage havens like China.

By the mid-1980s, trade liberalization was in full swing, with U.S. imports surging as companies chased cheaper labor. The decade saw manufacturing jobs plummet from 19.4 million in 1980 to 17.8 million by 1985. Main Street USA began its slow death, as family owned factories shuttered and corporate greed prioritized profit over patriotism. Reagan’s administration, stuffed with Wall Street cronies, couldn’t care less about the constituents left jobless and hopeless.

Clinton’s Catastrophe:

NAFTA’s Job-Killing Onslaught in the 1990s

Enter Bill Clinton, that slick talking opportunist, who in 1994 unleashed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), a one-sided disaster masquerading as progress. Signed in 1992 under Bush Sr. but rammed through by Clinton, NAFTA promised jobs but delivered devastation. It caused the loss of some 700,000 U.S. jobs as production fled to Mexico’s lower wages. Manufacturing bore the brunt: Between 1993 and 2014, the U.S.-Mexico trade balance flipped from a $1.7 billion surplus to a $54 billion deficit, costing up to 600,000 jobs.

Clinton’s betrayal didn’t stop there. In 2000, he granted China Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR), paving the way for its WTO accession. This corrupt capitulation ignored warnings from labor unions and economists, prioritizing billionaire donors over blue collar Americans. The result? A surge in imports that gutted industries like textiles and furniture, displacing workers and eroding wages. Main Street’s disappearance accelerated, with small businesses crushed by cheap foreign competition.

The Bush China Shock Betrayal:

China Shock and the 2000s Onslaught

George W. Bush, that bumbling heir to oil fortunes, oversaw the full unleashing of the “China Shock” after China’s WTO entry on December 11, 2001. U.S. imports from China exploded, growing from $102 billion in 2001 to $438.9 billion by 2024. The trade deficit ballooned to $324.2 billion by 2013, eliminating 3.7 million jobs between 2001 and 2018—2.8 million in manufacturing alone.

Bush’s administration, riddled with corporate lobbyists, turned a blind eye as factories closed en masse. From 17.3 million manufacturing jobs in 1999 to 11.5 million by 2009, the sector hemorrhaged positions. Walmart exemplified the corruption: By 2013, its Chinese imports hit $49.1 billion, accounting for 15.3% of the U.S. China trade deficit growth since 2001. Everything from electronics ($124 billion in 2025) to toys (80% of U.S. market) flooded in from China. Even iconic American brands like Converse, Levi’s, and Barbie dolls betrayed their roots, shifting production to exploit cheap labor.

Obama’s Odious Outsourcing:

Sneaky Trade Deals in the 2010s

Barack Obama, that smooth talking Marxist with a penchant for empty promises, slithered into office in 2009 amid the Great Recession, vowing to revive manufacturing with a million new jobs. Instead, this duplicitous demagogue delivered atrocious trade deals that accelerated the offshoring apocalypse, prioritizing corporate cronies over crumbling communities. His crown jewel of betrayal was the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), negotiated in secrecy and signed on February 4, 2016, a sneaky pact with 11 other nations that labor groups warned would obliterate up to 450,000 U.S. jobs by flooding markets with cheap imports and empowering multinationals to sue governments over worker protections. Obama’s earlier U.S. Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS), implemented in 2012, was another gut punch, ballooning the trade deficit with Korea by 84% and costing 13,500 American jobs in just its first year, as manufacturing exports tanked while imports soared. Under his watch, unfair trade deals continued to erode wages for low and middle income workers by displacing them into lower paying sectors, with offshoring schemes rebranding U.S. firms as “factory less” to hide the hemorrhage of jobs to China.  Manufacturing jobs barely budged in his final 21 months, adding a pathetic 370,000 over three years against his grandiose pledge, leaving Main Street’s decay unchecked as billionaire puppet masters pulled the strings of greed and corruption.

Biden’s Bungling Blunders:

Failing to Stem the Tide in the 2020s

Joe Biden, that bumbling relic stumbling through the White House since 2021, has perpetuated the catastrophic sellout with a litany of trade policy blunders that expose his incompetence and kowtowing to corporate overlords, all while American jobs vanish overseas. This doddering disaster inherited Trump’s tariffs but failed spectacularly to enforce the Phase One trade deal with China, allowing Beijing to miss purchase targets by a whopping $200 billion without repercussions, emboldening the export flood that crushes U.S. manufacturers.  Biden’s so-called “industrial policy” apes China’s subsidies, funneling billions into crony capitalist boondoggles like the CHIPS Act and Inflation Reduction Act, yet these half baked handouts haven’t reversed the offshoring nightmare, instead, they’ve distorted markets, hiked costs, and failed to bring back meaningful jobs, with critics slamming them as costly copies of Beijing’s playbook that ignore systemic failures. His administration’s political pandering, from premature genocide declarations to weak kneed negotiations, has let China dominate global manufacturing, running record trade surpluses while U.S. deficits swell, costing jobs and hollowing out heartland towns.  Biden’s blunders, including backing down on spy apps like X and perpetuating Trump’s flawed restrictions without fixing the root greed, have left Main Street USA in ruins, with corruption unchecked and billionaire masters laughing as workers starve.

The Trump Betrayal:

Donald Trump, once hailed as a populist crusader against the corrupt establishment, has morphed into its most egregious embodiment, a puppet of the deep state. Campaigning on "draining the swamp," he conned ordinary Americans with promises of making America great again. Yet, under his watch, not a single prominent Democrat has faced arrest or charges for stealing taxpayer dollars through NGOs and shell corporations. Crooks like Nancy Pelosi, who funneled $100 million in COVID relief to her husband’s companies. Joe Biden, whose family laundered Ukrainian bribes through Delaware LLCs and Hillary Clinton, who diverted Haitian earthquake funds to her foundation remain untouched. Meanwhile, Trump's growing inattentiveness to America's immediate needs is stark: our borders once overrun with drugs and illegal aliens, millions of these criminals still hide in the darkness.

Inflation guts middle class wages and pedophile elites like Jeffrey Epstein walk free until their convenient deaths. The evidence of Trump’s own complicity in pedophilia scandals, allegations he spent time with Virginia Guiffre at Epstein’s mansion, is atrocious and no longer ignored by his base. By signing a $70 billion deal with Pfizer despite its mRNA vaccine deaths and ignoring COVID-19 origins in Wuhan labs funded by Fauci grants, Trump proves himself just another swamp creature feasting on American suffering while pretending to lead a revolution that never came. His betrayal isn’t just policy, it’s existential: sacrificing patriots’ trust for power within the very system he vowed to dismantle.

The Devastating Aftermath:

A Nation in Ruins

Today, the consequences of this bipartisan betrayal are everywhere: 12.8 million manufacturing jobs in 2019, down 35% from 1979’s peak. Black workers lost 646,500 manufacturing jobs between 1998 and 2020 a 30.4% drop. Homelessness surges, healthcare remains a privilege for the elite, and children starve while politicians pocket lobbyist cash. Main Street USA? It’s a ghost town of boarded up shops and opioid despair, sacrificed on the altar of corporate greed.

These corrupt overlords, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden, and Trump take zero accountability. Their billionaire masters, from Walmart execs to tech titans, laugh all the way to the bank while America crumbles. Everything happening today, economic inequality, social decay, points straight to Washington D.C. and its puppet strings. It’s time to call it what it is: a disgraceful sellout that demands reckoning.

‘The time has come to utilize our rights under the second amendment while we still have the opportunity and defend ourselves against our domestic enemies inhabiting Washington D.C.. Trump has no intention of draining the swamp, if anything, he’s filling with his own brand of corruption.

American patriots, Lock and load.
